How do you add a preferred source on Google Top Stories?

Option #1

To add Shop TODAY as a preferred source, simply open up your Google Search results page directly on your computer or phone. Type in a specific phrase or topic in the search bar, hit enter and keep scrolling until you see the Top Stories module appear. Once there, you’ll notice a circle with a starred folder icon inside to the right of Top Stories. Add "TODAY.com" in the required field and check the blue box. Refresh your results and TODAY.com, along with Shop TODAY (which is part of TODAY.com), will automatically be saved as one of your preferred sources.

Option #2

Another way to add us as a preferred source is to click here and type in “TODAY.com.” Once the box is checked and you've refreshed the page, Shop TODAY content will start appearing in your feed. Get ready for lots of award-winning mature skin care, beauty and travel content to flood your feed. The best part? There is no cap, so you can select as many sources as your heart desires!

Preferred Sources isn't the only recent update available, as Google also added a From Your Sources module, which is similar to Top Stories, but instead of choosing specific news websites, this section displays articles from those selected sources.

What does this mean?

For years, publications or sources appearing in Top Stories were intent on Google's algorithms, but the new Preferred Sources tool is changing the game. With this innovative feature, users are now in the driver's seat for more customized content and have the ability to prioritize their favorite news outlets over those they find less enticing or deem irrelevant.

Whether you're searching for dark circle concealers or the best face sunscreens for your upcoming beach vacation, this accessible new feature will help you (and fellow Shop TODAY readers) see all the latest and greatest TODAY.com content without scrolling through pages of inapplicable articles.
