Watch Will Ferrell's Sons Re-Create Musical 'Elf' Shower Scene

They explain the reason why they didn't often watch their dad's iconic holiday movie.

Will Ferrell's kids Magnus and Mattias recently shared their version of a scene from "Elf," and son of a nutcracker is it entertaining!

Posted on Dec. 4, the TikTok video features Magnus, 21, as Zooey Deschanel's Jovy character while Mattias, 18, takes on his father's iconic Buddy the Elf. The boys lip sync to Deschanel and Will singing their unexpected "Baby It's Cold Outside Duet."

The video has already racked up 73,000 views and a ton of hilarious and heartfelt comments.

  • “Everyone in my life will be seeing this video.”
  • "I’m so happy to be a part of the elite that understands how significant this is. 😂 This is how some people felt watching 'Degrassi: The Next Generation.'"
  • "HAPPY FERRELL CHRISTMAS, GUYS."

Responding to a selection of comments, Magnus admitted that he didn't often watch "Elf" when he was growing up.

"When I was a little kid I hated the movie cause I didn’t like the part when he got yelled at," he wrote.

This isn't the first time the Ferrell boys have displayed their talent in front of the camera. In fact, the whole family — Will, his wife Viveca Paulin, and their sons Magnus, Mattias and Axel, 15 — recently appeared in the opening moments of the new "A Very Jonas Christmas" movie.

It seems that the boys may have inherited their dad's penchant for a punchline.

In 2024, Magnus shared a photo of the time Will dressed as a Medieval lord to embarrass him at the prom. He's also unafraid of sharing his unique dance moves or dressing up like a giant baby in a bonnet and diaper.

In a 2018 interview with Parade, Ferrell said that his kids are each “funny in their own ways.”

For example, when he was a freshman in high school, Magnus borrowed a friend’s glasses and put on a serious look for his yearbook photo. He was worried that he would get in trouble, but Ferrell said, “‘No, you’ve got to do it every year! Fantastic!’”

Ferrell added, “It’s fun to see them make their friends laugh. Very similar to me, they’re good kids at school and yet they like to try to be funny.”
