Deviled eggs are always a hit, and it only takes is a few toppings to jazz up this snack table staple. When you top them with smoked salmon, dill and caviar, they turn from an average appetizer into an elegant hors d'oeuvre. They may be dressed up in their holiday finest, but they're still the quick and easy to make bites we all know and love.

Technique tip: Bring the eggs to room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes before boiling. This will help prevent the risk of cracking when lowered into the boiling water.

Swap option: Deviled eggs are incredibly versatile. Swap in some of your favorite toppings. Smoked trout would also be delicious.
