If you're anything like me, you have a drawer that’s dedicated to leggings and stretchy yoga pants. It’s essentially a sea of black rolled-up pants, one indistinguishable from the other. So, why do I keep purchasing more? Believe it or not, even with a shelf full of options, I had yet to find the perfect pair.
But when I got the opportunity to try these Baleaf joggers, I was shocked at how much I ended up liking them. I’m seriously considering replacing my entire leggings/yoga pants collection with more pairs of these!
What I like about the Baleaf Joggers
They feel soft, lightweight and expensive
Upon opening the package, the joggers felt cool to the touch. They have the smooth feel of my Lululemon Align leggings and the structured feel of my Athleta Brooklyn pants (both retail for around $100). They are also extremely lightweight, almost to the point that I feel like I'm practically wearing nothing.
I went on a trail walk the other day and felt comfortable — throughout the elevation and temperature changes — the whole time. I barely broke a sweat, and I also loved knowing pesky mosquitoes couldn’t get to my legs. And since the pants have UPF 50 protection, I wasn’t worried about any sun damage while walking on the sunnier parts of the trail either.
I'm officially a fan of zipper pockets
These joggers helped change my tune on the usefulness of zipper pockets. The pair features five of them, which may seem a bit much, but they don't feel bulky at all and have proved to be truly game-changing details.
Last month, I was at a four-year-old’s birthday party and found myself in one of those multi-story jungle gyms, playing with my son. All was well until we made it to the bottom, and I realized my phone was no longer in my pocket. I backtracked my steps and luckily found it, but that anxiety could have been avoided if I had just been wearing these pants.
They're ideal for keeping your valuables safe while on a walk or while jumping at a trampoline park with your children. It’s a relief knowing I won’t have to dig through a ball pit to find my car keys from now on.
They're more versatile than you think
These pants aren’t just for exercising and can be styled in so many different ways. Pair them with casual sneakers, ballet flats, or sandals and a denim blouse to run errands or for work. They're also stretchy and cute enough to go straight from yoga to brunch.
What to consider
- The pants come in black, blue, red, khaki, gray, and green and have two inseam options (regular and petite). I ordered a size medium with 28” regular inseam. For reference, I am 5’7” and usually order a M. They hit right at my ankle and the bands weren’t uncomfortably tight. The waistband is very stretchy and adjustable, but I was able to slip the pants on without untying the string, and they stayed nice and snug while I wore them.
- The material is a mix of nylon and spandex and hand washing is recommended. But, full disclosure, I put mine in the washer and dryer, and I didn’t notice any pilling.
